A reflection on leadership, judgement, and responsibility in the real world

...not the heroic version of leadership. The real one.

This is not a book about extraordinary achievement.

It is a reflection on leadership as it is actually experienced. Judgement under pressure. Responsibility when outcomes matter. And the reality of leading in complex environments.

There is something slightly uncomfortable about hearing your own words read back to you.

You notice what you meant to say. What you almost said. And what you would probably say differently now.

That is, in many ways, the point.

When I wrote I Didn’t Row the Atlantic #sowhat, it was not intended as a traditional leadership book. It was a reflection on experience. On judgement, responsibility, and the reality of leading when the answers are not obvious.

Not the heroic version of leadership. The real one.

The version where decisions carry consequence, complexity does not resolve neatly, and progress is often quieter than people expect.

"You don't need to row the Atlantic to be a leader. But you do need to understand the responsibilities you carry, and the choices you make."

If this reflects the reality you are working in, feel free to get in touch.
